Rain Alarm Pro Weather Radar App Reviews

RainAlarm has been one of my favorite apps for the past few months. After discovering the RainAlarm Win 7 desktop gadget and Firefox/Chrome browser extensions, I decided to get the Extended version for my iPhone in order to support this developer. RainAlarm Extended improves upon the free version by allowing for more precise customization. For me, the best feature has to be the ability to turn the app off for a specified period of time. At night, I dock my phone to an iPhone compatible clock radio and I only need my severe weather alert apps waking me up. If you live in a precipitation-heavy place I highly recommend this app. It is consistently accurate and has never crashed. I support what this developer is doing and cant wait to see how he continues to integrate the RainAlarm concept into more aspects of my life!

This app has been very useful. Precipitation has a huge effect on my job and I use this apps push alerts to stay ahead of the weather.

A useful app that collects radar weather feeds and uses it to prompt users of possible precipitation. The app needs not be active for it to work. It uses ur last know location or a fixed location and the server sends out notifications to your phone. Accuracy is good because it uses actual read-outs from radar instead of feeds from weather forecasts. U can set a custom radius, sensitivity and some other options. This app is useful for users in Brunei and Malaysia especially because of the lack of good weather prediction. My guess its price is based on cost of radar feeds that also determines its region of use. This is an ideal app for bikers to not only warn of impending showers but also predict weather along our routes.

The app alerts me every time rain is moving in or developing in my area with a thunder noise. The only thing I might suggest is the radar itself is a bit under par and could use a little work. Also that instead of having to use the pin to do a manual location you can just type in a city name so its centrally located on the city. Other than that, I highly suggest this app!

Ive tried a few others, even bought a few (like Raindropping Pro). Rain Alarm is the only one Ive used that is consistently accurate. The settings are a bit confusing, and it would be great to know storm durations, but it does its main job accurately and consistently. I also love the thunder sound for alerts :)

the new sound of lightning was better I do not like the sound but had heard more real please put an option where one can choose the sound thanks

The app shows different colors representing the amount or intensity of rain. I had questions about the program and contacted the "owner". Within 20 minutes they responded to my questions and resolved them. Excellent CustomerService. They may out a manual describing all of the features. I use a lightning & radar program and this one is great because it shows the "amount" of rain in my area. So far, I like this app ;-)

This app doesnt work. Doesnt show anything. Ripoff!

I previously gave this app 5 stars, but in this new version, it keeps "zooming out" whenever you update or open the app. This is incredibly annoying and inefficient. In previous versions, the map size stayed "zoomed in" as you liked. I hope developer reverts back to this in next update.

This is one of my most used apps, especially in the spring and summer, when spotty showers are in the forecast. I love it!

But apparently IOS 8 and it dont really like each other. Now shows radar images of rain all around me in Tyler TX area and all other radars show no rain within at least 200 miles.

Such a pity. I was using free version and worked flawless. Ive paid the XT version in a way to collaborate with the developer. Since last update doesnt push alerts anymore.

Got the original version when it first appeared years ago. Its only gotten better since day 1. Loved it then and love it now. Aside from the obvious, its great for deciding when to let the dogs out! I hear the alarm and out they go before the rain arrives on my doorstep.

I like this app alot. It works as stated. The only thing that needs to be changed is the radius. 12 Miles is the lowest it will go. I would like to see 5 miles or less.

Please fix. Since the last update NO notifications are coming to me and it is pouring for 2 days now and not one notification..

I have had this app for years, and I can say it has never giving me a false alert. Yes I really enjoy reliable weather apps. I have gotten my weather apps down to 13 and this is one of my favorite. Highly recommend this app also radar scope. Would like to have follow me location added.

New release causes background to be almost same color as fonts. Ocean color grays out on larger maps.

I have been using this app for a couple of years now and it is still the best. It is worth every penny.

Love this for its accuracy and alerts to keep you in the know! Especially when storms are near by! Thank you!
